At Engaged MD, LLC, we know how important the security and privacy of data is to you. Therefore, please review the following statement which explains what data we collect, how we use the personal information you provide, and how we keep that information secure. “Personal information” refers to data that is unique to you such as name, birth date, address, email address, IP address and telephone number. If you encounter a screen or page that requests information you do not want to share with us, do not enter the information and do not proceed with that screen or page.
Information Collected and Used
For purposes of this site, we may collect and use your name, any other personal information provided by your personal physician or healthcare provider, email or phone/text number that you provide in order to provide the content that is relevant to your requirements as notified to us by your personal physician or healthcare provider, and we may collect informed consents from you, as well as generate progress reports concerning your review of the individualized content, for delivery to the personal physician or healthcare provider who referred you to us. We will not provide that information to anyone else without your permission. We will continue to send you information unless you request us to stop or opt out.
You may also decide to use your email or text number to ask us questions and provide comments about our website or services. You are encouraged to provide this feedback. We do share these messages with individuals in the organization who can appropriately respond; we may preserve the content of your message along with our response. At times, we may use a third-party vendor to determine if you open and use any information that we share via email, as well as to solicit your feedback through online surveys. Responding to these surveys is optional. It is important to use good judgment when sending information to us via email or text. These messages may pass through private and public networks with varying levels of security. Some networks may have taken steps to secure these transmissions while others have not which could affect the privacy and integrity of the information you send.
In addition, to the information listed above, we also collect electronic data about you in order to provide a positive website experience and report on user activity. Please be aware that none of these tools provide us with the ability to read any data residing on your computer.

This “User Access and Choice” section shall apply solely to the extent your information collected by Engaged MD is not collected pursuant to the “Information Collected and Used” section above.
If your personal information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, amend or ask to have it removed by emailing our Customer Support at support@engagedmd.com or by contacting your medical team. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.
We will retain and use your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You may sign-up to receive email or newsletter or other communications from us. If you would like to discontinue receiving this information, you may update your email preferences by using the “Unsubscribe” link found in emails we send to you or at your member profile on our website or by contacting us.
Third Parties
Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy or the Engaged MD Terms of Service or as specifically authorized by you, we will not disclose any information to third parties outside of Engaged MD.
We share information with the following third parties:
- Service Providers: We share information with third party agents and vendors who perform functions on our behalf, including, but not limited to, hosting, content management tools, marketing, analytics, product development or support, sending email or text messages, billing or payment processing, fulfilling orders, delivering subscriptions, auditing, and customer service. These entities will be obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of that personal information, including the execution of Business Associates Agreements and Data Protection Agreements where appropriate.
- Business transfer or change: In the event of a corporate change in control (for instance, a sale or merger) or due diligence in contemplation thereof, Quartz may transfer your personal information to the new party in control or the party acquiring assets
- With your consent at your direction: We may also share your information with your consent.
Laws and Legal Rights
We may disclose your information (including personally identifiable information) if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so in order to comply with an applicable statute, regulation, rule or law, a subpoena, a search warrant, a court or regulatory order, or other valid legal process. We may disclose personally identifiable information in special circumstances when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating the Engaged MD Terms of Service, to detect fraud, or to protect the safety and/or security of our users, the Engaged MD Service or the general public. Engaged MD is subject to the investigatory and enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
We also may be required to disclose an individual’s personal information in response to a lawful request by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.
In cases of onward transfer to third parties of data of EU individuals received pursuant to the EU-US Privacy Shield, Engaged MD is potentially liable.
Security Measures
We adhere to accepted industry security standards that are designed to protect any non-public personal information on this website against accidental or unauthorized use, access or disclosure. The technology we use is specifically designed for web servers. All of your personal information resides in a secure database behind a firewall where it cannot be accessed without proper authorization. Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) technology encrypts your personal information as well as your health history if it is transmitted over the Internet. In addition, we periodically subject this website to simulated intrusion tests and have developed comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
You also have a responsibility in keeping the personal information that is available secure by keeping your account name and password confidential. EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework
Engaged MD complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries. Engaged MD has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles of Notice, Choice, Accountability for Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity and Purpose Limitation, Access, and Recourse, Enforcement and Liability. If there is any conflict between the policies in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. In compliance with the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles, Engaged MD commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information. European Union individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding this privacy policy should first contact Engaged MD.
Engaged MD has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the EU-US Privacy Shield Principles to JAMS an alternative dispute resolution provider in the United States. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit https://www.jamsadr.com/eu-us-privacy-shield for more information and to file a complaint. The services of JAMS are provided at no cost to you.
Please note that if your complaint is not resolved through these channels, under limited circumstances, a binding arbitration option may be available before a Privacy Shield Panel.
Data Retention and Destruction
We comply with the laws and regulations related to both the length of time that we retain your electronic personal information and its proper destruction.
